APK QR code generator

The fastest way to get your APK onto someone's phone is to let them point their camera at it. Paste your download link and get a clean QR code you can print or share.

How to use it

  1. Paste your link. Paste the https link where your APK (or its download page) can be downloaded.
  2. Add a caption. Optionally add a short line like 'Scan to install My App'.
  3. Pick colours. Keep dark dots on a light background for reliable scanning.
  4. Download. Download a PNG for sharing or an SVG for sharp printing at any size.

You have two good options:

  • The APK file itself (a link ending in .apk) — scanning starts the download straight away.
  • A download page with your icon, version and install steps — better for people who've never installed an app outside Google Play, because they see what they're getting first.

Whichever you choose, keep the URL the same when you release updates. Then every printed QR code keeps working. Need a direct link from Google Drive or Dropbox? Use the APK download link generator.

Tips for a QR code that always scans

  • Contrast: dark dots on a white or very light background. Inverted codes fail on some cameras.
  • Size: at least 2 × 2 cm on paper; bigger for posters read from a distance.
  • Quiet zone: leave the white border around the code — it's part of the code.
  • Test: scan it with two different phones before you print a hundred copies.

Private by design: everything runs on your device. Nothing you type or upload here is sent to a server.

Questions people ask

How do I make a QR code for an APK file?

Upload the APK somewhere that gives you an https link, paste that link here, and download the QR code. Scanning it opens the download on the phone.

Can a QR code install an APK directly?

It opens the download link. The person then taps the file to install, and Android asks them to allow installs from that source the first time.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The QR code just contains your link. It works for as long as the link works.
